Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio, is an American actress. Maggie Grace is most well-known for playing Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively in ABC's Lost television series. Her parents had divorced and they moved together with their mother into Los Angeles. It was a struggle to make ends meet when she got her first part in the acting world as Rachel's Room's main character. In 2002 she was nominated to receive a Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford, the character she played in Lost from 2004 until 2005 was selected for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace quit the show in 2005 to pursue the role of a greater part in film, appearing in the film Taken alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. The actress has also appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 as well as in Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. In 2008, she played the same role in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost in the series, which included the conclusion. The year was 2013, and she was a guest in the sixth episode of Californication. The actress portrays Faith as a groupie and also a model for the stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. As a part of the Gyllenhaal Family, she is the daughter and elder sister to actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began when she was a teenager, playing small appearances in the films of her father and starred with her brother in the popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). In 2002, she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal won critical praise in both of her roles as the lead actress in Secretary (2002) which is an erotic romance drama drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). The actress was also nominated for The Golden Globe Award. The year 2006 was the time she starred in numerous films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However it was her performance in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her more attention with The Dark Knight (2008). The year 2009 was the time she received a nomination as the best supporting Actress at the Oscar Awards for her performance of a single mother as she appeared in Crazy Heart. Then, she went on to appear in comedy films and dramas like Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and The Won't Back Down (12). Other roles are as an agent of the Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a vocalist in Frank 2014, and in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the title role. Gyllenhaal composed and directed her first film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. It was also nominated to the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
